London – Paris – Vienna – Istanbul Cultural Shipping Line The MS SUPAMIRA floating culture platform is a converted cargo vessel. It is to have a programme with a focus on the field of contemporary art, music, film, theatre and performance. The MS SUPAMIRA has been developed by the IPTS (Institute for Post-Taylorist Studies) to have her base in Vienna. The ship will have a fixed mooring for part of the year and cruise up and down the Danube for the rest. Significant about the MS SUPAMIRA is that she will dock at various towns along the Danube to present, and build up a network between, artists and festivals in the Danube and Black Sea region. The interventional quality of the work will be extended spatially when the ship is on the move and continually being relocated. Selected artists are to accompany the ship along a part of its route and adopt an approach specific to the situation for the duration of their participation. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
